Weekly Nostalgia - Box Camera

Weekly Nostalgia - Box Camera

This is my "box camera", aka the Ansco Sure Shot. My brother, Matt, gave this to me about two years ago. I've run three rolls of film through it, and I've loved ever bit of it!

All in all, I don't know that much about this camera, and I kind of like it that way.

Here are a couple shots taken right after it was given to me:

I recently got A scan back from my last roll....a roll that was in the camera for close to a year....yeah...

Joshua Longbrake

Joshua Longbrake is a wonderful photographer.

Fact.

I've been admiring his work for a long(brake) time, and have had the privilege to e-mail back and forth with him every so often. Bob Miller first turned me on to Joshua's blog about a year ago, and I've been a regular reader ever since.

Joshua has a ever-growing series of photos of portraits in which you can't see the person's face. (See opening photo.)

Seeing that I don't have an original bone in my body, and the fact that I needed to use up the last few frames on a roll of 35mm, I thought I would admiringly imitate a Longbrake, using the closest Joshua I could find.

Keep rocking it out man!

Peace. - Caleb
