TOT

About a week ago, a tour of ten artists (well, 8 because to of them had to leave the tour early...because they were voted off the island...) came into town for the "Ten out of Tennessee" tour.
....it was wonderful.

New York, Day 2

Wonderful day in NYC. Bryan and I met up with our friend John Harkey for a tart and coffee around lunch, and ended up hanging out with him for about 3 hours.

Then we made our way over to John and Holger's studio and I printed off a few things for the workshop tonight. Then it was off to class, and a good beer and smoke before bed...I heart NY.

I'm having a really fun shoot on thursday, which I will tell you all more about after it actually happens....vague enough?

Billboard Magazine

Katie Herzig texted me the other day informing me that one (well, with the table of content, two) of my pictures is being featured in Billboard Magazine.

I'm incredibly encouraged by this, and am really glad Katie is getting this much press. If you haven't heard Katie's new album, Apple Tree she's giving it away for FREE on Noise Trade.com.

If you see this cover (of THIRD DAY?!?! Where have they been?) of the magazine pick one up and say, "Hey, I know that guy who took the picture of that girl."

Matchstic: City Church Eastside is Live!

One of my favorite things about photography is that if gives you the opportunity to meet some great people.
About a month ago the amazing branding and design firm Matchstic asked me if I would team up with them to help a community church in Atlanta called City Church Eastside. I said yes, and a few weeks later, I spent a day traveling around the Eastside of Atlanta with Pastor Scott, taking pictures of the areas in which they minister.
Anyway, Matchstic just launched their new website! Go check it out, and tell me what you think

The Roof: Brooke Waggoner and Band
*Brooke Waggoner and her band stopped by the house the other night for a killer Party. While here, yhey were kind enough to let me take their portraits on The Roof.
Check out Brook's Music HERE
*These are the first official digital images in the series. I'm going to try to keep these at a minimum, but I like keeping the images a little diverse.

Branden's Birthday + Paper Route EP Release = Party featuring Caleb, the "Snaps Guy"

Yesterday was Branden's Birthday, and it just so happen to fall at the same time as the release of our friends Paper Route's new EP...which they were releasing in Birmingham (fyi: last night they were number 93 on iTunes top 100 Albums List...so awesome). So, after the incredible show (featuring the lovely Brooke Waggoner) we all came over to the house and partied the night away.

Paste Magazine and Taylor Bruce

A few months ago, I took a picture of Taylor Bruce to be featured in the contributors section of Paste Magazine.
You should definitely go buy one and read the story Taylor wrote on The Raconteurs.

Grey Haven Concert, Tonight

If you're in the Birmingham area tonight, come out to Workplay at 9 pm and see Grey Haven perform our 2nd show.
Grey Haven is a local music community I helped start about 5 months ago. We have a bi-monthly concert are they are amazing! So many different styles are represented by so many different people. It's a lot of fun.
....you should come.

Taylor Bruce

My friend Taylor needed a picture for the contributors page of Paste Magazine.
He recently interviewed and wrote a story on...wait for it....
Jack White.
No big deal (wait, it is).
Check out some of Taylor work HERE, read his most recent Paste Magazine contribution HERE, and look for the Jack White story in the August addition of Paste Magazine.

About a month ago Cannan Elizabeth Jones came into the world.
She is a cute baby.
Fact.

Matchstic & City Church Eastside

Matchstic is a wonderful company.
Fact.
A few months back they decided to choose an organization to which they could donate some pro bono work. After much consideration, they landed on City Church Eastside in Atlanta.
I spoke with the co-founder of Matchstic, Craig, soon after they made their decision, and told him that I loved the idea and if they needed to partner with a photographer for the project I would love to be that photographer.
A few weeks ago I received a call from Craig.
.....
I'm excited.
To express my excitement, I sent Craig some pictures of myself sporting the team colors. Go Matchstic!

Bedouins International

God has blessed with amazingly talented and driven friends.
Fact.
Stephen, Paul, and Roger are all part of a non-profit organization called Bedouins International. (A non-profit which they started (by the way)).

Bedouins provides media services to charities and mission organizations so the people who sponsor these organizations can be up to date on what their moneys, prayers, and volunteer hours are going toward.

This brings us to yesterday, when Stephen told me that Bedouins was going to be featured in Relevant Magazine and they needed a picture of all them together.

Honestly, I think film would have captured these guys style much better, but they needed the images that day, so I used my trusty 5D.
